Lisa began working with Mylar backed foils on clay and developed the first faux dichroic method for polymer clay in 1998. Since then, Lisa has developed several innovative techniques for using foils on clay. These can be found in her books, DVD's and magazine articles.

Lisa has been an innovator in using Mylar-backed foils for crafting for over a decade, developing several techniques for polymer clay including the first Faux Dichroic Glass technique for clay. Simply roll out a sheet of polymer clay, lay the foil over the clay, coated side down, and burnish with fingertip firmly over the surface of the foil sheet using a scrap of paper between your finger and the foil. This will cause the metallic coating on the underside to attach itself firmly to the surface of the clay.

Rip the sheet off after burnishing onto clay, in one quick movement, and the backing sheet will come away, leaving the clay covered with wonderful metallic finish.
