Lisa Pavelka’s Magic-Glos

Magic-Glos replaces Lisa’s previous product, Poly-Glaze. It has several major improvements and advantages over the former glaze product including but not limited to:

Dries in Minutes (not hours or days!). Requires UV light to cure. It dries in the sun, or under UV lighting using a 40-watt fluorescent black light (incandescent black lights don’t work) or nail lamp (6 watts or above).  Discounted UV cure lamps are available through www.coveredinclay.com

The typical cure time for most layers is 5-15 minutes. Adding inclusions, partly cloudy conditions and thicker layers may take longer to harden. Once the product is cured Magic-Glos is:

Crystal Clear!

Waterproof!

One-step, no additional sealing or cleaning methods are required!

Once applied to baked clay and cured, Magic-Glos™ can be baked again in the oven at clay temperatures!

Non-toxic handling and no odor.

Ideal for backfills over textured clay and surfaces that can’t be sanded/polished.

Few if any air bubbles. These are easily removed with a direct heat source like a butane torch or embossing gun in a few seconds. (Do not over heat as this may burn clay or substrate surface).

Lisa’s new gloss can be mixed with inclusions such as glitter, dried flowers, beads, etc.

Perfect for embedding objects!

Easily creates domed cabochon effects and enhanced faux dichroic looks with multiple layer applications. Cure between layers.

Magic-Glos™ is an amazing dimensional medium. It can be applied without dams or sidewalls to contain it. Applications that are too thick will not hold a bead and may overflow past surface edges. On some materials, Magic-Glos™ will pull away from the edges. This is often the result of adding too little product. Repeated (2-3) applications between curings will eventually fill in these outer edges, creating a beautiful rounded finish.

Magic Glos™ is best used by pouring the desired amount into a small cup or disposable surface. Apply with a toothpick or skewer. Brush application may be used, but be sure to put enough Glos on so that the product will self-level before curing. For larger areas, especially those that have side-walls, apply directly from the bottle. Allow to flow over the walled surface or speed this process with the aid of a toothpick, drawing the liquid to the outer edges. Don't forget to heat to remove any air bubbles that may not be visible.

Brush application for Magic-Glos™ application: Once used for Magic Glos™ a brush will remain Glos dedicated and cannot be used for any other medium. Wipe excess Glos from bristles with a baby wipe, cover with plastic and store in a dark place for future use. A little practice is all you need to get beautiful results with Magic-Glos™ easily and quickly, time after time.

For use on fabric or uncoated papers, rub a thin layer of liquid polymer clay like Fimo Decorating Gel over the surface and heat set for 10-15 minutes at 265F degrees before applying Magic-Glos.

.Magic-Glos™ can be sanded, buffed, and polished. This is ideal for satin and matte finishes.

Great for sealing transfers, foils, leafing mosaics, and more!

Magic-Glos can be drilled, carved, and cut after curing.

Fabulous for as an adhesive for setting Swarovski Flat Back Crystals and other dimensional embellishments onto surfaces of all kinds.!

Ideal on other creative surfaces to add shine or dimensional effects such as water droplets, raised patterns, etc.

Magic-Glos™ can be molded in silicone molds like the Krafty Lady (www.kraftylady.com) and Sweetbrier Studio Molds (www.sweetbrierstudio.com)

Can be tinted with resin dyes.

Great for inclusions like Art Institute glitters, Angelina fibers, finding and more (http://www.artglitter.com).

Layer inclusions like baked clay elements (stamped, foiled, etc.), transfers and more for dimensional effects

No Shrinkage!

Wonderful for sealing and protecting foils, leaf, and other delicate surfaces.

Can be used as a transparent panel alone (sealing objects between two or more layers-see above).

Terrific with Lisa Pavelka’s preprinted waterslide transfers.

Great for paper arts, scrapbooking and other craft applications. (Not for use on photographic paper and may not be compatible with certain types of coated paper)

Store in a cool, dark place when not in use!
